You just can't stop eating this fudge!
2 C Sugar
2.3 C Milk
2 T Corn Syrup
Dash Salt
2 T Butter
1 t Vanilla
1/3 C Peanut Butter
Heat sugar, milk, syrup, and salt over medium heat, stirring constantly until sugar is dissolved. Cook until 234'. Remove from heat. Add butter. Cool to 120' without stirring. Add vanilla and peanut butter. Beat vigorously for 1 minute. Spread mixture in pan. Cool until firm.
Makes about 32 1-inch squares.
A little history about this recipe: I had to refine it to write it down! When my Grandma Rolph taught me how to make it, it was "Two caps full of corn syrup, 1/4 cube butter, one cap full of vanilla." She didn't ever use a candy thermometer! When you let some of the corn syrup mixture drip from a wooden spoon, and it looked like there was a hair in it, it was ready!
