1/2 C Shortening
( I use 1 C butter-flavor shortening)
1 1/2 C Sugar
2 Eggs
2 1/4 C Flour
2 t Cream of Tartar
1 t Soda
1/4 t Salt
2 T Sugar
2 T Cinnamon
Heat oven to 400'. Mix thoroughly butter, shortening, 1 1/2 C sugar, and eggs. Blend in flour, cream of tartar, soda, and salt. Shape dough by rounded teaspoonfuls into balls.
Mix 2 T sugar and the cinnamon. Roll the balls in mixture. Place 2 inches apart on ungreased baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until set. Immediately remove from baking sheet.
Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
